Happy Weekend!

It finally SNOWED!  yay!  ...only about 5 inches...but still....its actual snow and its beautiful!!!

My lovely friend Janis is hosting a fun series, 52 Tags in 2012!

For our third tag, we're creating a warm & cozy feeling!  I used one of Lindsey's beautiful sassy images, warm colors and wintry textiles of burlap & felt!

Warm & Cozy is my very favorite season! The woodstoves are burning....we run around the house barefoot and there is always something delicious cooking in a pot on the woodstove or at the very least, we have a kettle of water with cinnamon sticks boiling to keep moisture in the air...smells so good!  I {{heart}} this time of year!!


I hope you truly enjoy your day.  We have so much to be grateful for, don't we?!

New Year's Resolution #2 - Reuse!


Are you into metal?  I removed some bronze metal hearts from an old crafty sign and re-used one of them on today's project!

Stamps: Joy's Life (wintery puns)

Paper: Prima dp 

Ink: Memento for stamping, SU! ink for distressing

Other:  metal heart, Krylon glitter paint, 

vintage seam-binding (hand dyed & shimmer sprayed)

I cut my design paper into strips & distressed each one

before attaching it to my card base.

My ribbon was hand-dyed with Stampin' Up! ink & sprayed with my home-made bronze shimmer spray.

Have any of you used Krylon's Glitter Blast yet?  oH mY wOrD, I adore it!!!  I glitter blasted my heart a bit for fun!!

New Year's Resolution #1 - Recycle!

We're starting off the year a little more green @ Paper Playtime,
our theme is to use your Cricut and a recycled item!!


A little gift for a new neighbor...something to add to the welcome basket!

The tags provide info for local shops & restaurants along with a few neighbor names & phone numbers (with permission, of course)...making it easier for the new family to become more familiar with their new neighborhood!

The back of the tags are free from patterned paper & 

provide more room for a list of numbers!

Materials used: toilet paper rolls, My Mind's Eye papers, spray adhesive, kraft cardstock, Nesties for labels, Stampin' Up alphabet stamps for labels, eyelets, twine, vintage seam-binding, vintage linen seed bag, button, Dymo label-maker, Cricut for tags (Plantin Schoolbook) & welcome sign (Home Accents) carts.

This was so much fun to make!!  If you've not tried making one yet, I encourage you to give it a go!!
