Can you believe our temps here in PA have been spring-like?!  This has certainly been a very weird winter!

I used a fun little technique on this happy little card.   The sparkly strip under the twine is sticky paper 'smothered' in fine yellow glitter!  Ooo, I DO love glitter!

This week was my turn to choose our Digital Tuesday Challenge, I say, "make it sparkle!"  Add some glitter, bling or shimmer to your project and come play along!

Whipped up this card for a friend who's having some hard breaks, just to let him know someone cares and is thinking of him!

This card uses all old stash except for the pink designer paper & pearls! I saw this design by Carrie Gaskin on a Stampin' Up! site last year and had it tucked in my inspiration file. Don't you just love this color combo, melon & mustard!

I'm not usually a bear person, but Stamp Fairy bears are just too cute! I dabbed a bit of white paint on the Kraft cardstock, for Donna's bow, so the red would keep it's brightness!

Not sure if this will be a Valentine or an anniversary card yet...sentiment to be determined!

Is your Cricut collecting dust?...time to pull that baby out of the closet.  I used a very basic cut & design today,  you could use any shape and embellish as much as your little heart desires. 

The design paper is adhered to the card base and the negative cut layer is attached with dimensionals!

Football, Food and a pretty Tag!

Happy Weekend!   Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Are ya ready for some football?

Ah, it's a bittersweet day!  I'm excited to watch the superbowl but sorry to see the season end!

And what would Superbowl Sunday be without the food (& commercials)?

Here's my favorite crowd pleaser recipe....you can easily double/triple it as needed!


Cheddar Beef Enchiladas 

1 pound ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup water
2 cups cooked rice
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
10 to 12 flour tortillas (8 inches)
1 jar (16 ounces) salsa
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed
cream of chicken soup,
undiluted

1. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink
2. Drain.
3. Stir in taco seasoning and water
4. Bring to boil
5. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes
6. Stir in rice
7. Cook & stir until liquid is evaporated
8. Spread about 2 tablespoons of refried beans, 1/4 cup of beef mixture and 1 tablespoon cheese down the center of each tortilla; roll up
9. Place seam side down in 2 greased 13x9x2 inch baking dishes
10. Combine salsa and soup; pour down the center of enchiladas
11. Sprinkle with remaining cheese
12. Bake 1 casserole, uncovered at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted
13. Cover and freeze remaining casserole for up to 3 months

Yields 2 casseroles (5-6 enchiladas each)

To use frozen casserole:

1. Thaw in refrigerator overnight.
2. Cover & bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
3. Uncover; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Sweet & pretty!  My lovely friend Janis is hosting a series, 52 tags in 2012!  Week 5 is all about creating in a style other than our own, our bff's style.  I have a friend that enjoys sending encouraging cards to missionaries far from home, they always include scripture, so I have included scripture on my tag!

I simply removed the front cover and used it to measure my cardstock.  Created my own cover & slipped it back in the front pouch.  The back cover looks like the front w/out the image!   Easy peasy!

For our fourth tag, we are using our favorite colors.

That was easy, since I used my favorite colors when I started this series.  Green, Kraft & Orange!
Green & Kraft make me think of nature & all the beauty that surrounds me, I am ever in awe of God's magnificent creation!  Orange is a joyful color, makes me think of fun, laughter & all over happy thoughts!  And I used polka dots 'cause they just make everything better!
