Faux Flocking - Sweet Christmas Wishes!

Happy Friday!

I have a sweet card to share today.

Joy's Life clear Sentiment stamp sets - Oh Christmas Puns,
Everyday Occasions & Holiday Occasions
Stampin' Up design paper, baker's twine,
Stampin' Up chalks, Kaisercraft gems.

This is an older technique I haven't used it in years!!

Simply stamp your image in Versamark (your pad should be juicy!) then dust it with your pastels (chalks). The effect gives you a suede or flocked look.  Give it a try!

All this week, the Joy's Life design team has been showcasing different techniques, check it out!

Have a super duper day!
Blessings!

Snowman Soup in a Jar!

Happy Friday!

I hope you've been enjoying all the Christmas projects this week!

Here's a holiday favorite, Snowman Soup!

It's all in the layering!
Scoop into a jar of your choice...
  1. 1 cup powdered milk
  2. 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1 cup granulated sugar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  5. 1/2 cup of mini choc. chips
  6. 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy
That's it!
This mix will fill a 1-quart jar (12 servings) but if your containers are different sizes, just keep the ratio of ingredients consistent.

To prepare: "Mix contents in a large bowl. For each serving, place 1/3 cup of cocoa mix in a mug and stir in one cup boiling water." Store remaining mix in airtight container.

Visions of Sugarplums event - Day Three!

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to the Visions of Sugarplums event, day three!  Are you ready for even more Christmas inspiration & give-aways??  I hope you're enjoy this week long event!!

Here's my share today...

My sweet hubby created this rustic box for me to fill with festive things for the holidays!
I tucked a vintage cardboard old world Santa behind the greens and glued Scrabble game pieces to a glitter-taped clothespin. It clips right onto the pine bough. too cool!

For my snowy candle, I filled a pint mason jar half full of salt (or use Epsom salt), wrapped some jute twine around the top and put a tea candle inside. (I used a battery operated tea light) And added some candy canes and an antique glass Christmas bauble with flocking.

Seeing all these pretty trinkets makes me smile!

Here are the blogs you'll want to visit today-

There will be fabulous sponsors throughout this week long event so be sure to comment on all the blogs. Each comment is an entry for the give-aways!!

Visions of Sugarplums - Day Two!

Happy Tuesday!

Be sure to check out our new Digital Tuesday challenge this week, we're looking for some non-traditional Christmas ideas!

Now onto day two of the Visions of Sugarplums event!  Are you ready for more Christmas inspiration and give-aways??
I created a vintage ornament to share today.
If you saw my post yesterday, I was creating cone shaped trees.  Well, I decided to use one of my cones to make this vintage ornament.  too fun!

I dipped the cone in two different glitters & added a pearl to the bottom. A little bling, some trim and a vintage text banner help to make the season bright! My vintage cut out is from The Graphics Fairy and is backed with more of my vintage text to give her a finished look!

Visions of Sugarplums event - day one!

Welcome to the 2nd annual Visions of Sugarplums week long event hosted by Lori Hairston! This year Lori has a sweet co-host, Lisa Minkler, they will be sharing wonderful holiday inspiration everyday!  They have a fun week planned for us & I'm honored to be part of it!!

Here's my share for today!
I created some fun trees using ribbon, twine, tinsel (some antique jewelry) & crinkled paper.  They are quite addictive once you start!

They're super easy too...and free if you use what you have on hand.
Simply roll some heavier cardstock into a cone. Use tape or staples to secure your cone shape, be sure to trim the bottom so it stands level.  Then start gluing & wrapping! too fun!
